VINTAGE "I HAVE A DREAM" MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. WATCH BOX “BOX ONLY” VERY RARE. My grandmother was given a gift for her 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1972. The gift was placed in this “I have a dream” Martin Luther King, Jr. box, & covered with tissue paper in order to disguise the box since the gift given to her had no connection to Martin Luther King, Jr. Many years later after she died, I was sorting through her belongings, and pulled the tissue off the box, and discovered the name. After doing some research I found out that there were watches made by 17 Jewels by Kent to memorialize Mr. King. This is very rare since most boxes get thrown out after the piece of jewelry or watch is removed. The box is gold colored & does have some blemishes that I have depicted in my photos. It is lined with a royal blue velvet material. This could be an amazing find for a collector or someone who owns one of these watches, but no longer has the original box.
