A UNIQUE COLLECTIBLE FROM
THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE MOVEMENT
Legal abortions were unavailable before Roe v. Wade in 1973.
This button was used at Pro-Choice rallies during The late
1980's and 1990's.
Bill Baird,
who founded
Parent's Aid Society
located in Hempstead,
Long Island,
New York was a leader in the fight against the anti choice
movement.
Larry Fox, "The Button Man",
worked with
Bill Baird
and Parent's Aid Society to change
the
Birth Control
laws in
the State of New York.
Many women, who
were legally
prohibited from controlling
their own
bodies, use items such as wire coat hangers to
perform their own abortions. Many died or caused
permanent damage to their internal organs.
SADLY...THE FIGHT HAS NOT
ENDED
